By the end of this school year, you will have spent nine years preparing for high school and ultimately graduating.
Each year, in addition to teaching subject matter, you have also been taught study skills and listening skills. You have been given pointers on how to take notes. This year you will receive formal instruction in note-taking through your American History class.
Mastery of the skills mentioned above are critical to your success in high school as well as in the eighth grade. They are also habits that one chooses to adopt. Do yourself a favor. This year dedicate yourself to mastering these skills so you will have no problem moving up to the ninth grade and to enable you to be a successful high school student. Until these skills are mastered, your school life will not be a happy one.
