Welcome to 7th Grade
LEARNING IS A SELF-ASSIGNED TASK!
Research has indicated that the seventh grade year requires dedicated use of study skills, use or development of organizational skills, a strong work ethic, and the transition to an independent learner rather than a teacher or parent-dependent learner. This means that you must not require an adult (teacher or parent) to be at your side before you will do the work required to learn the concept or task. Parents and teachers, will not be going to technical school, to work, or to college with you to assist you with your learning. You must learn how to learn.
Your supply list is typical of the items you will need to do school work through high school. For example, the reason for a separate binder or notebook for each class is to help you organize your work by class. At test time, you will not have to search through a single binder trying to find English notes in a conglomeration of math notes, history notes, science notes, etc. because your notes are all mixed together in one binder. You will simply pull out your English binder, and there your notes are---in sequential order.
