Grab and Go Breakfast at Middle School

Beginning February 11, 2013, our Lonoke Middle School students will be given an opportunity to participate in a ‘Grab and Go’ breakfast during our Advisory Period (9:38 – 9:54 a.m.). This initiative is made possible by a grant from Share our Strength and the No Kid Hungry Arkansas Campaign. This opportunity for breakfast is in addition to our breakfast currently being served from 7:30 – 8:00 a.m. Students participating in our breakfast program will have the option of choosing between the two breakfast sessions.
The traditional hot breakfast at 7:30 a.m. will continue to offer the current menu; however, the ‘Grab and Go’ breakfast will consist of a ‘Grab and Go’ item that does not require a tray or utensils. Both milk and juice will be served with both breakfast choices. The price for either breakfast remains the same ($1.25 and $.30 for reduced). Students will not be allowed to participate in both. Once they sign up for Advisory breakfast, this will be taken out of their cafeteria account (if not on free lunch). If a student accumulates a balance on his/her account, he/she will not be allowed to participate.

If students choose the ‘Grab and Go’ breakfast, they must sign up in their first period class within the first five minutes of class. This list will be submitted to our cafeteria, and the students will receive their breakfast in their Advisory Period classroom. On the designated Advisory day in which a specific grade goes outside or is in the gym, students will go directly to the cafeteria during Advisory for their ‘Grab and Go’ breakfast.
